How
to use Macromedia Flash with RetailCart - Adding Options
1. Repeat steps 1-8 of the previous instructions, if you've already
done so continue from where you left off. You should only have one
keyframe for each layer so far.
Adding
options is essentially going through steps 5-8 of the previous instructions.
The only difference is that you create a keyframe for each option
and change the description, price or product ID if you want to.
2. Click on the Pic layer and add a keyframe for each different
option you have. In the example we have three options for color,
white, blue and pink. We'll consider the orignial color, white,
an option as well so you only need to add two keyframes in this
example.
3. Now add a Stop action to keyframe #1, #2 and #3 of the Pic layer.
4.
You need to copy keyframe #1 of the button layer and paste it on
to keyframe #2 and #3 of the button layer
5. The example has two extra options for blue and pink colored shirts.
Click on keyframe #2 of the button layer then right click on the
button image and select Actions. Here you will need to change the
description, product id or price. If different colored shirts and
more expensive than the regular white, then you would change the
price. And maybe add " -white" at the end of the description
so the customer sees the difference. Highlighted in red are what
you can change.
6. Insert a new layer and name it Color.

7.
Insert a new symbol CTRL+F8 and name it white. Select the
behavior "Button". Do the same for blue and pink, or any
other options you have. Now go back to Scene 1 and your Color layer.
7.1. Go to your Library window, CTRL+L and drag the three
color option objects to your color layer. Yours should look something
like this. With the product image, a buy button, a quantity box
and three objects to select colors/options from.
8.
Now you need to add some actions to those three options. Right click
on the first option object and select Actions.
8.1.
Double click on the Go To action and deselect Go to and
Play. You'll want this button, when clicked to go to the first
frame. Do the same for the second object and have it go to keyframe
#2 and have the third object go to keyframe #3.
9.
Now press F12 to test your flash file out. Below is a working
example. The product ID reflects the changes in color options.
